Shit man if being vegan is this delicious, I might just give up dead animal carcasses after all. I kinda miss being vegetarian anyway…
Tofutopia spinach wrap: tofu spread, alfalfa sprouts, shitake mushrooms, green peppers & Columbia Gorge Organic VitaSea, which is like the Naked juice’s Green Machine but on crack. It’s pretty viscous and looks like green slime, but so good!
Photographic evidence that my brother finally cooked for me. Also, Whole Foods wine is actually decent and at only 3 bucks a bottle, why not?
Food Trippin’
Obviously as I am a broke college student, eating in New York offers a bit of a conundrum. Enter our ever reliable host who took us to places that were delicious and affordable, without sacrificing ambiance.
- The Park - Eclectic interior, (overly?) friendly management. Had a turkey burger on a English muffin. Italian pepperoni pizza. Veggie burger on a English muffin (though falling a part). Perfectly done fries. They also offer butternut squash ravioli— definitely coming back one day to try it.
- Metro Diner- Just a generic eatery, the kind that’s on every corner. Bagel w/ cream cheese, chocolate pancakes, fruit salad, coffee, Macauley look-alike
- Cafe Lalo- Lovely Art-Nouveau inspired interior. Olive twist, two cappucino’s, a viennese coffee, a mouth watering display of desserts. Recommended.
- McDonald’s- so much food, I can’t even explain to you.

Yesterday for dinner I had what definitely ranks in the top-10 most pretentiously fancy things I’ve ever made:
- mango & goat brie quesadillas
- with spicey plum chutney
- and jalapeño hummus
- served with pinot grigio
- and capped off with pistachio gelato
(Correction: Regina made everything and I poured the wine.)
But today for breakfast:
- sour cream & onion Pringles
- half a box of tagalongs
- washed down with: Sun Drop
So it’s all goood.
hahaha let’s just say that I cooked while you entertained the guest, aka skyped with Beatrice.
All I’ve wanted for the past 6 days is a big bowl of salad. Preferably with craisins, cashews, baby tomatoes, cucumbers, finely chopped cellery, mixed greens, feta cheese, mandarin slices, and a tiny bit of parsley on top.
And yes, I go into amazing detail when I fantasize about food.
