Food Trippin’
Obviously as I am a broke college student, eating in New York offers a bit of a conundrum. Enter our ever reliable host who took us to places that were delicious and affordable, without sacrificing ambiance.
- The Park - Eclectic interior, (overly?) friendly management. Had a turkey burger on a English muffin. Italian pepperoni pizza. Veggie burger on a English muffin (though falling a part). Perfectly done fries. They also offer butternut squash ravioli— definitely coming back one day to try it.
- Metro Diner- Just a generic eatery, the kind that’s on every corner. Bagel w/ cream cheese, chocolate pancakes, fruit salad, coffee, Macauley look-alike
- Cafe Lalo- Lovely Art-Nouveau inspired interior. Olive twist, two cappucino’s, a viennese coffee, a mouth watering display of desserts. Recommended.
And because by the end of our stay we were running low on money:
- McDonald’s- so much food, I can’t even explain to you.
Once, he came back from Paris with a box of macarons. This time he came from NYC. Sometimes you have friends you don’t necessarily deserve, aka I need to get this kid an amazing Christmas gift.
